About NOKA

The membership of NOKA comes from Ohio, Pennsylvania, and New York. We encourage all of our members to join the AKA.  The Northern Ohio Killifish Association meets six times a year at members' homes. We do not have dues. At each meeting members are to bring a pair of killifish or pay $1.00.
We hold an All Killifish Show each year. Watch for details of this year's show.

·         Enable success for the new or prospective hobbyist

·         Keep the community abreast of killifish hobbyist related events

·         Create a awareness for hobbyist Conservation efforts through promotion & shared content

·          Act as a "central information store" for conservation efforts and thereby facilitate a mutual effort with aligned objectives

·         Promote other Killifish specialty websites

·         Promote parent & sister (affiliate) organizations

·          Act as a “Central Hub” for locating & Exchanging Killifish

·         Support local & National clubs via site promotion, fundraising, event promotions

·         Support the killifish enthusiast via knowledge sharing & provide a venue for exchanging fish stocks

·         Support the killifish conservation effort by increasing visibility & awareness for the various programs of Species Maintenance & Study groups

·         Provide sales incentive for retailers to stock specialty dry goods that cater to the special needs of the killifish enthusiast

Conservation Efforts

This is a proposed area: the main objective is to expose as many site visitors as possible to the efforts of the assorted Species or Core Species Maintenance Group. Of equal importance is “combined effort”. It is hoped that if the assorted causes are brought together in one place, perhaps exposing the efforts of the many in a central location will align these efforts towards a common objective and purpose.
